Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe is the highest lake of its size in the US. The Washoe Indians named the area “Da-ow-a-go,” or “edge of the Lake.” but pioneers interpreted the phrase as “Tahoe.” Lake Tahoe had some other names like “Bonpland” after a French botanist “Mountain Lake” and “Bigler Lake” after the California’s third governor. But none of these stuck like Tahoe. Good thing. Take a look at the photography of Lake Tahoe.
