I'm trying out a new way to show my photography. Here you'll find landscape photography of Pyramid Lake, Lake Tahoe and some of my favorite skiing shots. I hope you enjoy. http://gallery.me.com/trassuchine#gallery
Check out the new issue of Adventure Sport Journal. A photo of Brian Kari up on Donner Pass made the cover. That was a great day skiing the Lake Run with Brian and Matt Kaso. I also did some illustrations for an article on 2 backcountry skiers crossing Tioga Pass back in 1932. They drove down from Tahoe and were stopped by too much snow on the road at Topaz Lake in Nevada. 395 was a little bit different back then! They ended up skiing all the way to Yosemite Valley, which is about 140miles. That's pretty burly considering they had to carry enough food and equipment back then was probably pretty heavy. Check out the article here.
Lake Tahoe is the highest lake of its size in the US. The Washoe Indians named the area "Da-ow-a-go," or "edge of the Lake." but pioneers interpreted the phrase as "Tahoe." Lake Tahoe had some other names like "Bonpland" after a French botanist "Mountain Lake" and "Bigler Lake" after the California's third governor. But none of these stuck like Tahoe. Good thing. Take a look at the photography of Lake Tahoe.
